Picked up this Celica GT today from Denver VIC.
Hoping to restore to its former glory!
This 1985 Toyota Celica has had the Ken Morgan Dealership kit fitted to it.
The Ken Morgan GT Sport kit saw the addition of fibreglass flares, a hatch spoiler, wider 14x7 Delta Wheels and some GT and Sport badges.
Restoration begins!
Moved the Celica from where it was parked since 22 April 2018. A good amount of moss, cobwebs and leaves accumulated. A quick pressure wash brought it back.
Now we've had the time to actually look at it, the interior doesn't appear that bad.
The interior is fairly clean. Just need to give it a nice detail and remove the cobwebs!
Compression checked the Celica. All good 165psi on all 4 cylinders. Removed fuel tank from donor car as it has a new fuel pump installed. Charged the battery.
No pictures added today, as no difference made.
After depleting 3 batteries in the torque gun, and a few days worth of RP7 soaking the fuel tank finally released.
Swapped the fuel tank with no success. It is now we remember, the "new" fuel pump has sat around for roughly 3 years and evidently, does not work.
Time to source a fuel pump!
It breathes.
Changed the fuel pump and used old faithful Start ya bastard.
Started a little rocky, so added some injector cleaner.
20 seconds later and it was running smooth.
